The New Rules of Food with Kristin Kirkpatrick
Premiered on Detroit Public Television November 25, 2017
Kristin Kirkpatrick is the Wellness Manager at the Cleveland Clinic, and a regular Today Show contributor. Her goal is to help you navigate nutrition labels to achieve a healthier, happier life.
200 years ago, there really were no rules about food. Everything that was available to eat was sourced locally, organic, in season, and unprocessed. There were no labels to decipher or packaging claims to challenge you. All food was real food.
Things have changed. More foods are available to us than ever, which is great. What’s not so great is that so many of the foods that used to be food for us are no longer healthy due to over-processing, added sugars, hormones, pesticides, and artificial ingredients that you can’t even pronounce!
Today, we need food rules if we want to heal our bodies. Join Kristin Kirkpatrick, MS, RD, LD as she breaks down her simple guidelines that will help you decipher ever-changing diet fads, updating regulations about packaging claims and nutrition labels.
