Detroit PBS KIDS Education
Learning at Home During the COVID-19 Crisis
Effective Monday, March 30, 2020, Detroit Public TV is responding to the learning needs of families with children at home as a result of Michigan schools being closed because of the COVID-19 crisis by adjusting its entire daytime programming schedule.
From 7a until 6p Monday through Friday, DPTV will offer blocks of programming geared to specific age groups – early childhood, middle school and high school – on its main broadcast channel (56.1), as part of a collaboration with Michigan’s public television stations and the national PBS system.
Detroit PBS KIDS builds on the PBS tradition to reach young people in new ways, extend lifelong learning for adults and setting the standard for helping kids become ready to learn. From new parent support through graduation and beyond, Detroit PBS KIDS is a trusted partner and valuable resource for educators, parents and children.
Pre-School U is based on the internationally recognized Five Domains of School Readiness. It provides ideas for fun everyday activities to do with your child to prepare for school.
