Ideal Group President Linzie Venegas Elected To Detroit Public TV’s Board Of Trustees

DETROIT (Aug. 9, 2022) – Detroit Public Television’s Board of Trustees recently elected Linzie Venegas, president of the Detroit-based Ideal Group, as its newest member.

“It is an honor and a privilege to welcome Linzie to our board,” said Rich Homberg, president and CEO of Detroit Public Television (DPTV). “With her leadership, vast experience and deep commitment to diversity, she brings a fresh perspective and passion to the board, acting as a key contributor to our ongoing efforts of engaging and serving the entire community of Southeast Michigan.”

With more than 20 years’ experience in the manufacturing and construction industries, Venegas started working for her father’s company at 14 years of age. During her tenure, she has taken on roles from intern-level positions to stints in accounting, sales and marketing before being promoted to the executive level. As president, she oversees accounting, human resources, administration and marketing activities for all of Ideal’s eight companies.

Outside of the office, Venegas is member of the Detroit Athletic Club, is a board of trustees member at Cranbrook and the Detroit Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council.

Venegas graduated from the Harvard Executive Education Training Program and the Executive Training Program at TUCK School of Business at Dartmouth College, where she is now an instructor for the Business Digital Excellence Program. She is a recipient of the Mi Gente Magazine Spirit of Frida Award and The Joyce Ivy Foundation Women of Impact Award, as well as being named to the 2019 Top 10 Michigan Business Women by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Crain’s Detroit Business “30 in Their Thirties” and Crain’s “40 Under Forty” lists.

She and her family reside in Detroit.
