Current Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers and Cecila Bickes, Volunteer Manager

Detroit Public Television wishes to thank all of the volunteers who came to help with the Spring Pledge Drive. Thousands of dollars were raised for future programming at DPTV. Whether you worked a phonebank or helped with hospitality your presence “made a difference.”

Next up: June Pledge Drive running May 31 through June 16.

Sign up for a volunteer shift here.

I would also like to thank those volunteers who come to the Riley Broadcast Center and work our Reception desk. Your weekly commitment is indeed a great help to us. I am proud to have one of my volunteers be the “first face” a guest sees upon entering our beautiful building!

Kids Club Live 2013

Want a little fun in the sun? The 2013 Kids Club Live will be at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on June 25 and June 26. Shifts are: 8:30am – 2:30pm and 2pm – 8pm. Downtime and a meal are provided.

Sign up via the website here or call 248-305-3911.

Volunteers
Detroit Public Television would like to give a “heartfelt” thanks to these volunteers, face painters, balloon twisters, unicyclists, firemen and sponsors who made the annual Kids Club Halloween Party/Fall Festival a huge success.

Why I am a DPTV Volunteer:
Because I love the Station.

Favorite Volunteer Story or Phonecall:
A 92 year old man from British Columbia wanted my address so he could send me a DVD of his life story. He was born in England, lived in New Jersey, joined the Canadian Navy and fought in World War II.
