Society for Excellence

The Society for Excellence was established in 1996 to recognize individuals who have contributed $1000 or more annually to support programming on WTVS Detroit Public Television.

The Society's mission is to bring members together for unique experiences that celebrate public television's commitment to educate, entertain and inspire.

Through their leadership, Society for Excellence members also serve as ambassadors for Detroit Public TV, encouraging others to join this effort to use the power of media to provide knowledge and understanding.

$1,000 - Director's Circle

Invitations to exclusive "Lunch with the Prez"
1-year subscription to Society for Excellence newsletter
Direct line to manager of major gifts for feedback, questions
Invitations to celebrity meet & greet events
Invitations to annual Society for Excellence donor dinner
On-air scroll three times per year in recognition of leadership support
Annual Report listing

$2,500 - Producer's Circle

This level includes all of the preceding benefits in addition to:

Preferred seating for DPTV concert events (ticket purchase required)
An opportunity to appear as an on-air guest during DPTV pledge drives
Invitations to studio tapings of DPTV programs and to meet guests and hosts (America Black Journal, Am I Right?, Leaders on Leadership)

$5,000 - Executive Producer's Circle

This level includes all of the preceding benefits in addition to:

The option of having your name displayed on a plaque in the DPTV lobby
Free 1-year Society for Excellence membership to send to a friend (approval required)
Invitation to "Lunch and Learn" gatherings with DPTV producers and senior management

$10,000 - President's Circle

This level includes all of the preceding benefits in addition to:

Use of DPTV facilities for a private function (approval required)
2 complimentary tickets to PBS Premiere Night
1 on-air day sponsorship

$25,000 - Chairman's Circle

This level includes all of the preceding benefits in addition to:

A 30-second personal on-air acknowledgment to air around the program of your choice
Opportunity to visit personally with hosts of locally produced programs
Dinner for two with Rich Homberg, President and General Manager of Detroit Public Television
