MDOT I-75 Ambassador Bridge Gateway Project
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is thrilled to announce a Detroit Public Television (DPTV) documentary entitled “Connecting Neighbors: MDOT’s I-75 Ambassador Bridge Gateway Project” narrated by veteran TV journalist Emery King,
It features MDOT's $ 230 million infrastructure investment to take 10,000 trucks off local streets, bring international visitors to the door of the Detroit Mexicantown International Welcome Center, relieve congestion, increase safety, and improve travel on I-75 and I-96 freeways.
The documentary includes: historic footage of Detroit’s Mexicantown from the early 20th century; the recent building of the new Mexicantown Bagley Avenue Pedestrian Bridge connecting east and west Mexicantown; and interviews with a variety of leaders from the neighborhood and business sectors. Additional segments will highlight the significance of the Detroit-Windsor International border crossing to the economies of both the state of Michigan and the nation.
