An Urban and Metro Strategy for Michigan:
Helping Our Cities and Metro Areas Achieve Their Economic Potential
See Program here. Recorded 2/23/2012.
For the past year, Business Leaders for Michigan, Public Sector Consultants, and The Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program have been analyzing Michigan’s metropolitan areas to determine how state policy can best prepare the state’s metros, its economic engines, for the next economy. We have found that Michigan’s metropolitan areas are particularly strong in the critical elements for the next economy.
On February 23, 2012, a panel of experts discussed a number of the key drivers of the next economy. They focus on how Michigan’s cities and metro areas stack up with their peers, and on what can be done to help strengthen our cities and metro areas and grow their economies. Panelists include:
Bruce Katz - Vice President & Director, Metropolitan Policy Program,
The Brookings Institution.
James B. Nicholson - President & CEO, PVS Chemicals, Inc.
Doug Rothwell - President & CEO, Business Leaders for Michigan.
