Episode 4023 - Raphael Johnson
Detroit’s city governance is rapidly changing and one possible addition is particularly notable. Author, community leader and ex-convict Raphael Johnson is hoping to be for a spot on Detroit’s Police Commission…We’ll talk to him about his journey from law breaker to possibly…law maker. Johnson once was an honor student and football captain at U of D High School. At 17, he shot and killed 40 year old Johnny Havad and spent 12 years in prison for second degree murder. Since being released from jail, he has worked to find redemption through his work as a community organizer. Is he the right person for the Detroit Police Commission? Some believe that he is.
