The documentary, shot in high-definition, follows the journey of America's only superliner, from a mid-20th century maritime marvel to a largely forgotten relic. Previously unseen footage and compelling interviews tell the fascinating story of the SS United States' construction, record-breaking maiden voyage in 1952, its heyday during the 1950s and '60s, its retirement in 1969, and its gradual decline. Cameras climb aboard to reveal the SS United States, now moored at a pier in Philadelphia, to reveal its top-secret design and technological capabilities.
