Ten Sisters - A True Story
Ten Sisters - A True Story tells the emotional life story of the 10 Waggoner sisters who grew up caring for one another in a two-room house wracked with parental discord and financial troubles. Following a 1942 court proceeding, Illinois' state social services sent the girls to live in separate orphanages and foster and adoptive homes. The poignant film pairs their tragic early experiences with their recent efforts to restore their family ties and regain the closeness they shared 65 years ago. The narrative weaves dramatic reenactments of painful and light-hearted moments from the sisters' childhoods with interviews and old family photographs.
