Tonight on MiWeek:

  • QLINE: Detroit's QLINE opens to the public next week, but the media got a preview ride this week. Nolan Finley was on board and he talked with M-1 RAIL CEO Matt Cullen and The Kresge Foundation President & CEO Rip Rapson about the city's newest mode of transportation. The MiWeek team discusses whether the QLINE is the start of something bigger in transit.
  • REDISTRICTING: There's a push on to change the way the state's political boundaries are drawn by taking the process out of politicians' hands. The MiWeek team debates whether it's really possible to redraw district lines without politics.
  • DETROIT PUBLIC SCHOOLS COMMUNITY DISTRICT:  In a taped interview, DPSCD Interim Superintendent Alycia Meriweather talks about what the district will need going forward. The MiWeek team discusses the district's future challenges and the end of the Education Achievement Authority (EAA) come June 30.
