Detroit Jazz Festival – Part I

The largest free jazz festival turns 36 this year. Here to tell us more about the Festival are: Cornell Batie, Executive Vice President and COO; Chris Collins, Artistic Director; and Sharon Banks, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Marcus Belgrave Jam Celebration Quartet

A group of well-known musicians have come together to honor trumpet legend Marcus Belgrave. Robert Hurst, Gayelynn McKinney, Michael Malis, and Dwight Adams form the group, “The Marcus Belgrave Celebration – Detroit Quartet” and the group treats us to a special in-studio performance.

The Detroit Jazz Festival was recently voted the Second Best Festival in North America by readers of Jazz Times Magazine. Host Stephen Henderson continues the discussion with the Festival’s key players – Cornell Batie, Chris Collins, and Sharon Banks.
